Dear Friends,

As every year, here is the annual season report 2001 to keep you informed of our small community.
Sailing being a PASSION, our contacts with you are more passionate than technical; be sure that our pleasure is your happiness.

This year has been very positive for us as we came recommended by the Hellenic Tourism Office as an official travel agent, and by the increase of sailing tours..

As soon as April, Marc started the season on two similar GIB SEA 442 with a classical main sail as requested.
A sailor story that was told in the WEB site:
http://croisiere en April en dodecanese (in French).
The success of this early cruise is due first to the competence of the skippers and to the quality of the yachts. At PASSION, we point out that, whatever the weather or the yacht is, the skipper is the one that turns the cruise into a success.

A week later, THE 'TIAKOU PRODUCTION' team shot a film in Rhodes. A BAVARIA 47 from PASSION lead them for a few days to the close-by islands as Chalkis an Symi.
The film should be issued very soon in France, Germany and England. We will keep you informed.

The other side of the ocean, John, our companion in the Trans-Med 1999, offers me to steer his SWAN 53 for the ANTIGUA RACE WEEK. A unique experience to steer between hundreds of racing machines driven full speed in the Caribbean trade winds.
The ambiance on board is fantastic, sometimes very tight, sometimes hilarious as in this heavy shower when we took over a big part of the fleet without seeing anything.

Back in the Aegean I had this appointment with Ralf and Bob at Bodrum on this DELHER 37 ready  to sail down to Marmaris.  A new experience for those Pacific War Veterans that sailed actively every day. 'Quite different to our airplane carrier' said Bob. There is no picture available thanks to the advance technology of digital cameras. Easy to play with, easy to loose everything. Sorry Bob, how many pictures you said? five hundred, and the movie?

Dan and Elaine  embarked at Marmaris, Turkey, with the definite idea to relax as much as possible.  Here they are at  'Ali the shepherd' s kingdom.
It went so well that after a while they gave the measure of the  writer's talent:  The kids went focalized on the Ogres shouting from the caves, Cinderella swimming to her  Prince on the beach...

Fairy tales teller and after dinner actor; Bill gave his best when he missed the plank at night in front of the whole crew watching him from the cockpit.
Congratulation to Shannon for his maneuvers  and his ability to sail. His ancestors, America's Cup winners, can be proud of him.

Shannon proved it since then in winning medals in the Chesapeake bay. The team 'SUN ODYSSEY 51  in Turkey' is proud of him..

July came with lots of happenings and encounters. Catherine, first scared by seasickness realized that a good BAVARIA 47 in the Cyclades is a pleasant experience and she became even enthusiastic about sailing. This cruise is a good example of having a great time although the wind blew strongly once again in the Cyclades.

Here is Nicolas showing the same talents at the wheel.  Anyone is welcome to participate. Active sailing under supervision is an opportunity to learn and feel sailing .
The day after, the yacht showed its ability to stand strong winds, and after few hours of surfing, the crew relaxed on this idyllic beach of Potamos in Chalkis.

Mid July in Kos, Pierre and Dominique had an appointment with Yann on their BAVARIA 46; They had the advantage to get two of them (two Yann).
In fact Yann, my good friend skipper been delayed the embarkation night, I went myself from  Rhodes to check in. we decided then that I hadn' t come for nothing and sailed at night to have dinner at Pserimos island. The next morning , Yann (the other one) was coming from Turkey and they started their sailing week  as planned.

The Cyclades have a reputation being windy. Many people hesitate to jump into the adventure. Let's precise that sailing boats are made for it, the professional skippers trained to it. A good combination skipper/yacht leads the guests that are ready to have fun to heaven in total security.

It is Arnaud's choice for the year 2002. A good catamaran has been chosen for its safety for children and space on board. Adele and Louise will be able to run on deck or jump on the trampoline while sailing... and leave the skipper alone for a while...

...that is fine now, it will be even better next year...
